| The Austin Plane Incident: An Attack on the IRS?By Hilary Hylton / Austin Thursday, Feb. 18, 2010 Andrew Joseph Stack III, and one other person were killed when the software engineer fueled with rage against the IRS slammed his plane Thursday morning into the hulking Echelon 1 building. In a ranting manifesto posted on a Web site, Stack lashed out at the government — especially it's tax code — claiming they robbed him of his savings and derailed his career. The long, rambling rant posted on a website eerily reflected the angry populist sentiments that have swept the country in the past year. In it, a Joe Stack inveighed against intrusive Big Brother government, corrupt corporate giants, irrational taxes, as well as the "puppet" George Bush. "I choose not to pretend that business as usual won't continue," he wrote. "I have just had enough. I can only hope that the numbers quickly get too big to be white washed and ignored that the American zombies wake up and revolt." And then Stack apparently got in a Piper Cherokee PA-28 at about 9:40 a.m. at an airport in suburban Austin, Texas, and flew the plane into a commercial building housing an IRS office, killing himself, seriously injuring two people on the ground and starting a conflagration that lasted several hours. | UPDATEIRS worker's widow sues Texas suicide pilot's wifeAssociated Press Tue Feb 23, 9:05 pm ETAUSTIN, Texas – The widow of the Internal Revenue Service employee killed when a Texas man crashed his plane into the agency's Austin office is suing the pilot's widow. Attorney Daniel Ross says the lawsuit against Sheryl Stack seeks to determine if the pilot left behind insurance policies or other assets. Ross represents Valerie Hunter, whose 68-year-old husband Vernon Hunter was killed last week when authorities say Joseph Stack deliberately crashed his single-engine plane into the IRS office. Joseph Stack left behind a lengthy anti-government Internet posting blaming the IRS for personal problems spanning decades. The lawsuit filed Monday says Sheryl Stack should have warned others about her husband. LINK to source | |

| Suicide is selfish. Insurance doesn't pay for suicide so if he had some, she won't get anything. Now they want to make her responsible for his actions - like she really could have done something. I think she should file a class action suit against the government for theft, fraud, harrassment, wrongful impersonation of leadership, tax evasion (no one up there pays taxes), misappropriation of funds - our's, breech of contract, and anything else we can think of. I'd join the crusade - gimme my pen! | |
