personally, i'd make it legal and balance the budget. maybe even pay for healthcare without putting us into further debt or creating a tax burden for others

to see the same groups/people, who have opposed the legalization, stretch their hand out

They'd be first in line. It would have multiple benefits. First it would legally supply a product to adults where there is already an obvious demand. It would generate a ton of income. It would ensure the quality and consistancy of the product. It would put an end to the drug gangs by cutting out their source of income. It would end all of the violence and death associated with it. We could end this stupid war on drugs which is costing us a fortune and doing nothing.

As soon as someone puts together a financial prospectus and shows the potential benefits it will gain a lot of support. No one really cares about the "evils" of pot anymore.

The war on drugs would still go on because our overseas tax-dodging money-laundering banks and corrupt-to-the-gills DEA officials would still want to keep making their cocaine and heroin money.
