I was watching an interesting TV show this afternoon called, "Human Prey", which featured reenactments of documented animal attacks on people. One woman had visited a particular gorilla at the zoo almost every day for several months, and thought she'd developed a certain bond with the animal. The day the gorilla escaped, he went straight for her and mauled her. The animal behaviorist explained that the woman's smiling and showing her teeth was perceived as aggression by the gorilla.

A dog playing fetch in Germany has found and delivered to its owner a U.S. hand grenade from World War II. Police in the western town of Erkrath said Monday they were called by the dog's 40-year-old owner who stopped walking her pooch when she recognized the "rusty" object it was carrying was a weapon. Police summoned a munitions expert Sunday to identify and defuse the grenade.

I worry about the hawks the most. They like to come down for a closer look at times.
