"Scientists now have manipulated people’s perceptions to make them think
they have swapped bodies with another human or even a "humanoid body,"
experiencing the sensations that the other would feel and giving the illusion
of being inside the other's body."


"A year ago, scientists achieved the illusion of an out-of-body experience
in subjects, using virtual reality. The new research manipulates the brain
even further — out of itself and into another body. "



"This shows how easy it is to change the brain's perception of the physical self,"
said Henrik Ehrsson, who led the project.
"By manipulating sensory impressions, it’s possible to fool
the self not only out of its body but into other bodies too."

Last night as I lay sleeping, my ectoplasmic spirit form slipped away from my corporeal self, and journeyed deep into the realm of imagination, where it goes to interact with the ethereal selves of others. This happens to me often, but I don't always remember it. In the morning, I will find myself rejoined with my corporeal form, usually with very few memories of my nocturnal sojourns. During last night's travels through the Realm of Dreams, I was walking with a woman from Colorado who has captured my imagination and become my companion in many such journeys... she is the woman of my dreams.

My ectoplasmic spirit slipped out last ight and ate a couple cookies and drank a frappaccino. Now I have to exercise more. It it gets out tonight I hope it doesn't drink another one. When it gets back I have to go to the bathroom.

It was a little better last might, my ectoplasmic spirit just stayed up and read so the light was on most of the night. But that I can usually sleep thru...
