The infamous Arbeit Macht Frei sign at the entrance to the Auschwitz
Nazi death camp in Poland has been stolen.

The wrought iron sign, whose words mean "Work Sets You Free", was unscrewed and
pulled down from its position above the gate in the early hours of Friday.

Polish authorities denounced the theft, while Israel's Holocaust museum branded it an "act of war".



Investigators say at least two people would have been needed to steal the 16ft - 90 lb sign.

The theft occurred between 3:30 am and 5:00 am local time on Friday, Dec. 2009
police spokeswoman Katarzyna Padlo told the AP News Agency.

and it looks like now they've contributed

It's time to cut the money we send other countries by 50% next year and another 25% the next year and the turn off the money faucet for good.

Glad they found it so quick but we will probably never know why they took it. They shoud be abe to get it fixed and back up soon.

Yep in 3 pieces. The sign was hollow so that's why it only weighed 90 pounds. But since it was holow it should be pretty easy to fix. I coud have had that done at work in a couple hours tops.

I do have an original picture of Hitler and one of his henchmen that my Dad brought back.
