Went to the show this evening. On the way home drove over the bridge where the fireworks was being set off. It was interesting to see then from above and just above eye level. Hope you had a good one.

anyways...

I met java halfway....so that turned out to be Salina, Kansas.....

I know, I know


We stayed one night and then found a cute little Swedish Town about 10 miles down, it was very fascinating.

nice little outdoor pool...went to the local beach for an ankle dip... ate fun food...

the locals told us of an old stone castle to watch fireworks all around from up high, we did that...
Coronado Castle... there were about 100 people up there.

as we drove back to Lindsborg ( aka "Little Sweden" ) we realized the town of 4000 people had no city ordinance against fireworks
so every other block had locals partying and setting off nice fireworks...it was very cool to see random fireworks going off all around and right above us.

I've got some raw video footage, but it's not great....

but here are a few pics ... I'm sorry, they are not really that good...

but it was up on about the only little foothill in the whole area, and then you could walk those
stairs up to the top lookout part of the castle







maybe I'll get the video edited, it shows the drive up to the castle and the little castle itself

anyways...here's a link to info on Lindsborg...should you ever need to stop over nite in Kansas
it's worth the extra 15 minutes off I-70
