Awesome Artwork

This is a collection of oil paintings by a friend of mine. I was pretty impressed with his work and figured i'd make a thread about it. The first painting, the flowers in the vase, is now owned by kate capshaw and stephen spielberg. I love the glass jars and the vase on the deck. Amazing detail and reality in the glass. looks almost like a photo.

Woah...those are very good...looks like he had some illustration & graphic arts training too

the one with the milk bottles on the table looks partly photographic, I love those kind

he is very good. he works for Spielberg at dreamworks. he does a lot of the stuff for his movies

what amazes me is it's oil paints

I just googled his name but he doesn't seem to have a website for his work

theartofscottwoods.com. not all of these pics are on his website. some he just did for a show he is having this summer

he has done a few book covers and a number of magazince covers. he has some serious talent. and to think, i knew him when he was doing it all with crayons lol

What about coffee art?

I have a few eclectic art pieces I made about 7 years ago...I actually won "most creative" for one of them...and it was my very first show to enter...they are raw, mixed media peices and the show was themed "Symbolism" so my amatuer expressions fit right in....LOL


They are stored in my Mom's basement, I will have to dig them out to take a pic...maybe after Finals are over

but if I go down there, I'm afraid she's gonna say "get some off that stuff outta there and take it to your house !!"

i used to burn pictures into wood. they were pretty cool. it's differnet from drawing or painting where you work from the back forward. here you work fron the front back. becasue once you burn it, it's there to stay

he really kicks up the uniqueness of everyday objects with his angles
