I wonder how long it was frozen I saw it around january. it probably thawed around late march-april I've heard of the benefits of hypothermia in some situations... but that's kinda extreme but...I just realized something else about your story...what's up with the neighbors letting their pets freeze? did your parents freak out over that ?

I love to go ice fishing .... I can only take about 4 hours of it though they keep it flowing for awhile but eventually they freeze up. i used to keep a heater in there that would keep a 8" wide hole open. but they would always short out so i stopped bothering. ice fishing is pretty cool. depends on the day though. do you use a hut or sit out in the open?

ice fishing is pretty cool. depends on the day though. do you use a hut or sit out in the open? nothing too extreme...I would go up the mountain just a bit and my friends have access to a private lake... it has alot of trout in it... we would make a few holes about 12" with an auger ...sit out in the open if the sun is shining here in Colorado, it will keep you pretty warm, but you need to get packed up by 3 pm

if the sun is shining here in Colorado, it will keep you pretty warm, but you need to get packed up by 3 pm yea i've done some skiing out there in shorts. it's amazing how warm it can feel in the sun. same here though, by 3 pm, it really starts to drop.
