oh that is cute...minimum wage went up to $7.25 ...

and experts say they expect the extra few quarters the teenagers, starving college students and
low-skilled labor force ( ?? polite term for what? ) are gonna soon be seeing on their paychecks

"to significantly add to the nations stimulus plan."

I swear..... they just reported it ... experts are curious lot

I'm sure those extra quarters would do a lot to boost our local economy... if only the local people could get minimum wage JOBs so as to earn those extra quarters.

Here's a quarter, call someone who cares...

What do the "experts" know about anything? They're all being paid by the government.

small mom & pops are already whining...

" we'll have to let someone go"

"we'll have to raise our prices"

Most of the small mom & pops here closed their doors years ago.

It's such a tragedy, too. We had some great mom and pop stores around when we first moved here, not they've all been replaced with Home Depot and WalMart, neither of which is worth a damn.

There's still some mom and pop type places here and they are the best to eat at.

Fried food talks to me - a lot! So I avoid it, too. A lot of mom and pop places tend to be on the greasy, heavy side, depending on what you get. It's great comfort food, tho.

I go to this one great place. It's called a Tea Room and I even do carry out there. Only ate inside a couple times but the food is very good and made fresh daily.

We still have a few sit-down breakfast cafe's and smorgasbords who serve on real plates instead of cardboard and some of them even offer things besides just meat potatoes bread and salad. But they're rapidly vanishing.

Down here in the south there are still lots of little mom amd pop diners that serve country cooking. Its usually very tasty but they really are truly cholesterol emporiums.

You'd love these country buffets they have here. Any kind of veggie you could ask for.
