low-skilled labor force ( ?? polite term for what? ) are gonna soon be seeing on their paychecks

I'm sure those extra quarters would do a lot to boost our local economy... if only the local people could get minimum wage JOBs so as to earn those extra quarters.

What do the "experts" know about anything? They're all being paid by the government.

Most of the small mom & pops here closed their doors years ago.

It's such a tragedy, too. We had some great mom and pop stores around when we first moved here, not they've all been replaced with Home Depot and WalMart, neither of which is worth a damn.

There's still some mom and pop type places here and they are the best to eat at.

I can only speak about the ones I go to. I like to stay away from fried food when I can and the places I go I can.

Down here in the south there are still lots of little mom amd pop diners that serve country cooking. Its usually very tasty but they really are truly cholesterol emporiums.
